Are you searching for a hassle-free way to straighten your teeth? Then clear teeth aligners are the way to go! Clear teeth aligners are orthodontic devices that help to straighten and align teeth without significantly impacting your everyday activities. These aligners are made up of a transparent material and designed in such a way that they can be removed easily and worn without much notice. There are many advantages to using aligners over traditional metal braces, including better aesthetics, oral hygiene, and fewer trips to the orthodontist.

Aligners can be beneficial in many situations, including:

  • To straighten crowded, crooked, or widely spaced teeth.
  • To treat problems such as overbites, underbites, and crossbites.
  • To rectify teeth that have moved after wearing braces.

Dental aligners can be used to address mild to moderate tooth misalignment cases, such as overcrowding and spacing. However, jaw misalignments of a more severe nature are often effectively resolved by surgery. It is recommended to seek the opinion of an orthodontist before deciding on a suitable course of treatment for your particular situation.

Types of Dental Aligners

Some of the factors that affect the selection of the appropriate aligners for a particular case are your bite and your orthodontist’s recommendation. There are various types of aligners, such as:

  • Traditional Clear aligners
  • Invisible Aligners
  • Self-Ligating Aligners
  • Accelerated Aligners
  • Teen Aligners
  • Phase-One Aligners

How Dental Aligners Work

The process of getting aligners is simple and much less invasive than treatment with traditional metal braces. Normally, just one or two orthodontic visits are required before you can get started with clear aligner treatment. The procedure starts with custom-made aligners. First, an intraoral scan is taken by an intraoral scanner, which is known for its cutting-edge technology and accuracy. This scanner is very fast; it can do a full arch scan in less than a minute. The accuracy ensures the aligners provide a snug fit to apply the required forces to the teeth correctly.

Subsequently, scans are forwarded to our in-house lab, where a personalized alignment plan is developed. This plan will be developed using cutting-edge technology to provide you with the fewest trays necessary to effectively address your needs. The fewer trays used, the faster the treatment process.

A multi-layered hybrid aligner material, which possesses high elasticity, is used for effective treatment. The material exerts a continuous force on teeth to gently correct malocclusion.

One big advantage is that you get to start the treatment the very next day after your consultation. Our in-house aligners allow for the immediate printing of models and the preparation of aligners within a day. This means that even if you are traveling, your treatment will not be interrupted, and your aligners will be delivered to your doorstep.

Usually, each set of aligners needs to be worn for about two weeks. The treatment period varies depending on the case of an individual, but on average, it takes 6-18 months to finish the entire process.

To ensure cleanliness and prevent food particles from getting stuck, take off your aligners when you eat. Most liquids will not pose a problem with aligners. However, darker drinks such as coffee and red wine can stain the aligners, so it is preferable to remove them when consuming these beverages. It is not advisable to smoke while wearing the aligners, as nicotine and tar may discolor the clear trays.

How to Clean Your Aligners

A few steps to be followed to properly clean your aligners every night include:

  • Rinse the aligners with water.
  • Brush the aligners using a soft-bristled toothbrush and mild liquid soap.
  • Store the aligners in a protective case when they are not being worn.
